Bringing the universe within reach to future astronomers

Conceived from a desire to learn about astronomy at the age of 7, a child of immigrants, I took advantage of all the resources NYC offers in science and astronomy. I’ve always had a passion for building homemade models to simulate aspects of the universe. While excited about the college level astronomy courses I was able to participate in at a young age, I have struggled to find similarly enthusiastic astrophysics peers. I have met them almost exclusively through my involvement with the Amateur Astronomy Association, however, these tend to be older. Therefore, in 2020 I envisioned establishing a program where children most in need around the world, with a similar passion for astronomy and physics, would be encouraged to explore it, together with similar-aged peers, using age-appropriate curriculum and materials.
